Death stalks Gligamesh

1)In relation to our brief discussion of “catharsis” how does this relate
to Gligamesh's realization?

It relates to Gligamesh's realization through his emotional lament of
Enkidu. For example, in tablet 8, Gligamesh talks about his and other
peoples feelings after Enkidu's death such as: The young men who
cheered for them weep for you now, the river weeps for you, and the
mountains too.

2)What prompts Gilgamesh to confront his own mortality?
